As part of our social media, we are really lucky to be able to build different relationships with interior designers and home enthusiasts. One of these accounts is @freshstart_living on instagram. Beth and Jon are husband and wife interior designers who help with small touches like refreshing a room in your home, to completing full home renovations. Beth and Jon have used a variety of our lights throughout their home, so we messaged them and asked if they could tell us a bit more about how they style their own house and how they have incorporated our lights into their unique interior style.

The main hub of their house is their living, dining and kitchen area which is a lovely open plan space, which gives a very spacious and fresh feel to the room, where they have decided to use out Matt Blue and Copper Fusion lights along with our Copper Factory Wall Lights. In terms of inspiration, “we tend to work with a core colour palette in each room and are always drawn to rustic materials.”

Beth and Jon started by choosing a blue, copper and a natural wood colour scheme for their open plan space. They then decided on the fact that they “needed to layer the lighting in the space given how many functions it needed to deliver. We needed task lighting in the kitchen area, mood lighting in the dining and living spaces and they all needed to provide a warm light, given that the space is large and tall and could feel quite cold. We decided to zone the lighting by space, but to have some consistency by using the same fittings in different spaces. We then brought in the warmth by using the copper elements on the mood lighting which really helps with creating a warmer feel to the light.”

Overall, we loved how Beth and Jon styled this open plan area and we think that the deep colours can really compliment an overall lighter interior, it helps create a really nice homely feel for the room.
