Family Home, Balham
A residential remodel by Morgan Harris Architects, this house situated in Balham, South London, features a modern, minimalist interior and exterior. With floor to ceiling windows dominating the back of the house and the addition of skylights in the kitchen and bathroom, it is clear that the home was designed to be flooded with light, making our Supersized Prismatic Vintage Pendants ideal for this project.
Featured in the kitchen, living area and master bedroom, the continual use of these pendants provides consistency throughout the home. The prismatic glass is designed to provide a combination of uplight and downlight to illuminate spaces evenly and reduce shadows. In such an open space, this pendant works to recreate the natural brightness provided by the large windows. The vintage industrial style of our lights complements the simple aesthetic, making them a focal point amongst uncluttered furnishings and muted decor.
In the bright kids’ rooms upstairs, the playful decor is complemented by our Factory Industrial Pendant Light in Cream. The timeless, muted colour of the shade, combined with the mostly plain walls and floor, allows for endless updates to ever-changing children’s rooms, allowing homeowners to easily adapt the rooms as their children grow without having to overhaul the entire interior every time.

Studio, London
Built over a garage, this studio provides a modest individual workspace featuring our Coolicon Industrial Pendant Lights and MK3 Wall Lights in Copper. Designed by Morgan Harris Architects, the small space is opened up by the use of skylights that cast light down, onto the copper pendants, highlighting them as the only decorative element in the room.

Our wall lights work well for studio spaces as the shades are modelled from a vintage industrial task lamp, therefore they supply focused light to work under. In this project, however, they are fixed to the ceiling rather than directly over the desk, lighting the darker corners of the room that the centrally situated pendants are not likely to reach.

The Coolicon shades provide a wider projection of light due to the cut outs that enable the bulbs to illuminate more of the room; they are placed strategically between the wall lights to brighten up the enclosed space. The pendants also hang over the stairs leading to the studio, maintaining a consistent aesthetic throughout the property. The copper tones reflect the warm yellow of the shelving, forming a simple but effective colour scheme within the limited space and completing the minimal, contemporary style of the studio.
